First time my water froze right to the bottom of the bottle.
After putting on three layer I went for a little run outside. The thermometer said it was -1 F, but I am thinking it was colder since this is the first time the last inch of water in my bottle has froze (at about the 40 min mark). I microwave the water until it is too hot to drink before going out, and somehow it still froze. I am thinking I either need to move south or get an insulated bottle (maybe ill try a beer koozy : ) next time)
P.S. If anyone else runs when it really cold I recommend putting HOT apple cider in your water bottle. One packet per 20oz provides great flavor and about the same amount of carbs as power aid.

First Cold run in ND
SInce moving back to North Dakota from the Pacific Northwest I have been dreading below freezing runs. Tonight I bit the bullet and went for a easy 10 miles in 29 degree weather and it was not even close to as bad as I thought it would be (the wind was 12 mph, I’m not sure if I can run into a headwind any stronger than this without a face mask in the future). I am now confident that I will be running outdoors for a while longer this season, and if I buy some new gloves and a face mask I don’t think there is any reason I won’t run outside all season.

Cycle - 2.5 hours - 11/22/2009 and a little run.
Today felt good. After every long ride I jog for 15 min; usually my legs feel a little funny for the first five to ten minutes, but today they felt smooth. Also, this is my third week using sweat365 to track my workouts and I could not be more impressed; so thanks to all who helped put this site together, and all of you that make this site a community.

Time to incorporate stretching.
After today’s light run I could not believe how tight my muscles were. I have never enjoyed taking the time to stretch. In fact, the only time I ever remember stretching regularly in my life was during high school sports. Well, I guess my avoidance of stretching has caught up to me and now. If anyone knows of a great, quick stretch routine please let me know, thanks.
